MAIN BUILDING – GROUND FLOOR (north on left)
The ground floor plan shows the main living space in the converted barn – Kitchen and Living Room – at the southern (higher) end of the building. It shows the two ground floor bedrooms:-
The Byre – Double bed
The Dairy – King size bed
Old Kitchen – King size bed
There is also a double bed in The Parlour, the room through which guests walk between the barns and the former cottage. The doors of the Parlour can be locked for privacy, but guests must then walk outside to access the Apple Loft and Cruck Room via the cottage door.
MAIN BUILDING – FIRST FLOOR (north on left)
Accessed via the southern staircase is:
The Hayloft – Double bed
Because we could not cut through the mediaeval cruck frame, the remaining bedrooms are accessed either through The Parlour, or via the northernmost outside door and the northern staircase.
The Apple Loft – can be used as a double or twin room as it contains both a Double and a Single bed
The Cruck Room – contains a King size bed and a single bed allowing use as a twin room..
Please note that all bathrooms with toilet and bath and/or shower are on the ground floor – though there is a wash basin in The Cruck Room.
(The names of the bedrooms reflect the original function of the various rooms).
Should additional sleeping accommodation be required, we have a new, high-quality folding bed which can be moved around the house.
The sitting room of the cottage contains a futon which converts into a comfortable double bed and a single futon is located on the cottage landing.
